We’re looking for a hands-on Internal Communications Lead to keep our people informed, engaged and connected. You’ll work with every department across Scottish Rugby, helping to bring our strategy to life and sharing the important stories our people need to hear.

This is a true partnership role. You’ll be a trusted adviser to senior leaders, a champion for colleagues, and a storyteller who can make our strategy feel real to everyone. We’re looking for someone collaborative and proactive, and ready to roll their sleeves up.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading our internal communications strategy: developing and delivering the plan, and working closely with the People and Engagement team to align it with our People & Culture strategy

  • Creating content people want to engage with: from written pieces to video, you’ll produce innovative content and plan regular events that bring a hybrid workforce together.

  • Owning our channels: managing the content calendar, the intranet (including day-to-day administration and working with stakeholders to keep content fresh, consistent and relevant) and the Internal Comms inbox.

  • Advising and connecting leaders: guiding leaders on the best ways to share updates with their teams, and supporting the Leadership Team and Boards to communicate regularly with all employees and business leaders.

What we’re looking for:

  • A strategic communicator: demonstrable experience developing internal communications strategies that drive engagement, plus up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends and best practice in colleague communication.

  • A natural storyteller: you are curious by nature, can build engaging narratives and craft content for different channels and audiences, with practical knowledge of digital communications.

  • A confident partner to senior colleagues: you can build trust quickly, ask good questions and give clear advice and solutions, with strong stakeholder management, emotional intelligence and confidentiality.

  • Organised and unflappable: proven planning and project management skills, with the ability to juggle several projects at once, keep people and tasks on track, and stay calm under pressure.
